Edmonton City Centre Airport Economic Impact Analysis

The purpose of this project was to determine the economic and financial impact of redeveloping the Edmonton City Centre Airport (Blachford Field). This included an analysis of the Edmonton’s financial position based on a redevelopment concept plan as compared to continuing operation of the airport. The impact on adjacent neighbourhoods and the aviation community were incorporated in the analysis. The results were presented to a Special Meeting of City Council where administration, Council and interested community representatives asked questions and provided comments on the study.
