City of Grande Praire Annexation Fiscal Impact Analysis

In support of the City of Grande Prairie’s proposed annexation (2014), Applications completed a comprehensive long term analysis of the financial consequences of the annexation on City and County ratepayers, as well as the ratepayers in the proposed annexation area. This analysis incorporated projections of future growth in the proposed annexation area and included the expected costs of providing services and infrastructure to support this growth. This required developing a with and without annexation scenario for both the City and County of Grande Prairie. The results of this analysis were presented to the Municipal Government Board at public hearings on the merits of the City’s annexation application.
