St. Albert Smart Growth Fiscal Impact Analysis

Applications undertook a comprehensive fiscal impact analysis of St. Albert’s Smart Growth initiative. This involved using the Municipal Fiscal Impact Model developed by Applications for St. Albert and applying it to the Smart Growth proposal. The Smart Growth analysis looked at the City’s annexation area and the potential financial impacts of developing this area using Smart Growth principles of neighbourhood design and density. The results of the Smart Growth scenario were compared to those for a conventional growth scenario. This project also involved the evaluation of developer related costs associated with Smart Growth as compared to conventional growth.
