Saskatchewan Municipal Infastructure Gap

The province of Saskatchewan in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association and the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities undertook a comprehensive analysis of the municipal infrastructure gap in Saskatchewan. This involved an estimation of the current municipal asset deficiency all municipalities in the province and a forecast of additional municipal infrastructure that would be required to support future growth and development. The total cost of investing in new infrastructure and renewal of existing infrastructure was estimated and compared to the available municipal revenues and other sources of municipal infrastructure funding. The infrastructure GAP was estimated and a model was provided to the client(s) for future updating of the analysis.
