Health Care Volume and Inflation Pressure Study

As part of research on the increasing costs of health care, Applications joined a team of experts to evaluate the reasons for cost increases in health care services and developed a process for predicting future changes in health care costs. This analysis involved the analysis of micro health service cost data and incidence of health issues across the province. From this data a predictive model was developed for selected health issues to estimate future incidence of the health issue based on population demographics and the cost of providing health services to treat the issue. The project team won a REACH Award (Capital Health Region) for innovation in research for work completed on this project.
